Introduction
Recycling is a complicated issue. Recycling operations in general may be categorized as open-loop or closed-loop operations. Closed-loop recycling, which can be called up-cycling, means recycling a commodity back to its original state of packaging. The waste or by-product of one of the processes, or the product itself, is used in the closed-loop recycling method to produce another product of the same kind or category.
For example, recycling an aluminum beverage can be an example of closed-loop recycling to produce another aluminum product, maybe even another beverage can. Open-loop recycling, also known as down-cycling, means that a component can be recycled into certain forms of goods that use requirements of lower quality materials. For example, when plastic bottles are
recycled, they can not necessarily be transformed back into containers due to a degradation in the consistency of the material, such as how it looks and feels. More...
The energy carrier wood is a renewable energy source. The wood for producing energy can be taken from the waste of carpenter works or trees that have disease or fall down from storms. How can you win energy from wood? The wood sticks or pallets that are burned, generate heath and this is were the energy comes from. Also something that is associated with wood a lot is charcoal. Charcoal is a solid fuel and is produced when air-dry wood is heated to 275 ° C without air and without oxygen. Charcoal is made by heating wood with the exclusion of air. In 2018, 141'000 tons of charcoal were used.

We live on a farm and that's why we have such an old heating system with wood.
As you can see on the picture, we heat with wood sticks.
We burn the wood sticks and this creates heat / energy. The heat is then distributed through the pipes to the various radiators in the whole house.
With a wood heater system you can use the raw material (wood) and the wood is usually also available regionally.

First of all, what is plastic? It is a durable material that takes up to 450 decompose. It is estimated that 3-10% of the 300 million tonnes produced every year end up directly in the oceans.
How can you reduce using plastic? Try not to use plastic bags. Require a bag made of fabric instead. And in place of plastic bottles buy a bottle, which is a little expensive but one that you can use for a long time. Say no to plastic utensils and avoid microbeads. More...

1. Q67 - How much energy is embedded in agricultural products? (dontwastemy.energy)
2. The Beef Cycle (dontwastemy.energy)
3. Is living vegan better for our environment? (dontwastemy.energy)
I chose these three links because I'm very interested in agriculture and everything that has to do with it. I have been living on a farm in Hinwil since childhood and grew up with the animals and nature and so I also have been convoned from an early age. I love to work on our farm with the animals and the nature.
